Mixed Martial Arts

With the popularity of Mixed Martial Arts’ (MMA) increasing exponentially, self-defense concepts and martial arts effectiveness is evolving daily. Different forms of the martial arts have been tested and proven throughout the world. Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), World Extreme Cage-fighting (WEC), King of the Cage and other similar organizations are making the sport more mainstream than ever, and catch phrases are becoming household common-place words. More and more people are becoming interested and seeking opportunities to train in this sport. If being on the cutting edge of martial arts is of importance to you, now is the time to get involved and our program is built upon the tested and proven systems. This is not a beginner level class. To participate in Culpeper Mixed Martial Arts’ program, you must be a participant in the grappling and striking classes and be approved by our Head Instructor. This class combines all ranges of non-weapon martial arts, and as a result, the fundamentals of the striking and grappling arts must already be understood since the skills learned in class build on those learned in the other classes. Combining Western boxing, Mauy Thai, Wrestling and Judo with Submission Grappling, our MMA curriculum will make you a complete fighter. Whether you intend to fight or just want to train like a fighter and get in shape, while learning practical self-defense, this is potentially a program for you.
